Why don’t we have a look at the deferent kinds of roofing solutions. One of the most commonly used roof sheets for roofing is the IBR roof sheet. This kind of profile is also available in the galvanized , steel sheets and aluminium roof sheets. Steel and galvanized IBR roof sheets are cheaper than aluminium sheets. Whit elements like rain, wind and sun steel roof sheets aren't very durable so it needs to be painted with a chemical called Silvacote. ABE manufactures this product called and it is made of a aluminium liquid paste.

This liquid once stirred becomes thick and is then painted onto the steel roof sheet. This liquid is magical for roofing purposes. To prevent the roof sheet from getting too hot the Silvacote reflects the sun's UV . Torch-on waterproofing systems are also painted with Silvacote to help protect against weathering.

Zincalume which is a aluminium roof sheet is a roofing product that I think is the best. It is also known as Colorbond. The reason Zincalume is so supreme is because it lasts 20-30 years longer than any other roofing sheet on there is. It’s available in a raw aluminium silver color or you can use the Colorbond range that comes in a many deferent colors. Galvanized roof sheets are 0.53mm and 0.58mm think but Zincalume roof sheets only has a thickness of 0.53mm. Unlike painted roof sheets Colorbond sheets also don't loose it's color very quickly.

Colorbond also does not leave paintbrush lines because when manufactured it is sprayed with varies colors of the client’s choice. The correct roof bolt needs to be used with the right kind of roof sheet when you fix roof sheets to roof trusses. Allot of roofing contractors use normal roof nails that just hammer in to fix the sheets down. Although it might seem like the right thing to do it can cause problems. This is because unlike roof screws that must be screwed out to remove the sheets Another problem is the rubber washer of the roof bolt. The rubber washers starts to crack and leak and so water seeps into that small gap and into your home. If you want to use a roof bolt that will last and not rust to install roof sheets then I recommend class 3 self drillers.

These roof bolts are perfect for Zincalume roof sheets and are made to use together. Did you know that if you had to take a normal steel roof bolt and install a aluminium roof sheet with it the aluminium sheet will sacrifice itself where the roof bolt’s rust messes on the sheet just to prevent water from coming through.

The aluminium roof sheet also won’t last and eventually the rust will go right through the sheet. If you would like to replace your own roof or make use of a roofing contractor service I would suggest using Zincalume. It will be a bit more expensive than other products but you will get 100 fold back.
